Find out about the "Indians" of Ribes

The house was built by Joan Bertran Quadres in 1878.
In the 1861 and 1870 identity card records he is stated as living at the street Carrer Manascal and engaged in trade, and in 1873 at the street Carrer Planes, then listed as owner.

Building description:
Building between party walls located on the street Carrer Major in San Pere de Ribes. It has a rectangular floor plan and is structured in three bays.
It consists of a ground floor and two upper storeys and has a gable roof with the ridge parallel to the façade. The front is symmetrically arranged along three axes, defined by flat-arched openings with moulded surrounds and frames.
The entrance doorway has a segmental stone arch, with the coat of arms inscribed with the year "1878". The centre windows have two lights. The façade is crowned by a small rectangular gable located in the centre. The floor levels are highlighted on the outside by cornices, the upper one of which is serrated.
The exterior finish is plastered and painted, with the openings, the floor level and the cornices in a different shade. The rear façade features horizontal galleries with round-arched porticoes.
